I finally decided to move from 'testing' to taking the blog live, which is good news in-itself. After experimenting with several platforms, I decided to go with blogengine.net over Wordpress for the blogging software and with serverbeach as my hosting company.
blogengine.net is a great piece of freeware/shareware. Its based on the Microsoft .NET platform and is very easy to customize. In addition, there are a couple of really great widgets available for it (which I will add on later). To host my site, I went with serverbeach (a Peer1 company). Serverbeach offers dedicated Windows Servers at a great price. The servers are fast, reliable, and they have great customer service. I know about the great customer service first hand becuase I opened up a couple of tickets with them and they responded very quickly and resolved the ticket very quickly.
